For bobbin forming
In high-speed synthetic yarn winding processes, the TMT winder tensioning blocks (also known as tension segments) are critical consumable components. Their performance directly impacts the stability of paper tube clamping and dynamic balance during high-speed rotation.
1. Core Functions and Operating Principles
The tension segments are located on the outer periphery of the winder chuck. When the winder starts, the internal mechanism drives an inner slider. Using the wedge/inclined plane principle, axial force is converted into radial force, causing the segments to expand outward and firmly grip the inner wall of the paper tube.
1) Securing the Tube: Ensures the paper tube does not slip or shift at high speed.
2) Torque Transmission: Uniformly transfers the driving force from the spindle to the paper tube.
3) Rapid Unloading: Upon completion of a full package, the segments quickly retract (diameter reduction) to allow for smooth doffing.
2. Primary Materials
TMT tension segments are typically made of special composite polyester. This material offers specific toughness and elasticity, allowing for better conformity to the paper tube while preventing damage to the tube's inner diameter.
3. Key Technical Points: Dynamic Balance and Precision
Weight Control: The weight deviation among all segments on a single chuck is controlled within extremely tight tolerances. If a single segment wears down or becomes unbalanced due to waste yarn accumulation, it can induce high-frequency vibration in the spindle, potentially leading to shaft fracture.
Surface Curvature: The outer surface curvature of the segments is precision-matched to the paper tube’s inner diameter to maximize the contact area.
4. Maintenance and Replacement Guide
1)Waste Yarn Removal: During frequent tube changes, stray filaments can easily become trapped in the gaps between segments. This can cause "uneven expansion" or "failure to retract."
2)Lubrication: Although some segments feature a self-lubricating design, the internal driving wedges must be periodically coated with TMT-specified high-temperature grease.
3)Complete Set Replacement: Avoid replacing only a single damaged segment. To maintain dynamic balance, segments must always be replaced as a complete, matched set.
